Issues: privatisation, deregulation, export oriented production, globalisation of fishing rights, globalisation of the market for fishery products, Free Trade Agreements etc.

Objectives: To obtain a general overview of the characteristics, state of organizations and main challenges for artisanal fishing in the region in the context of globalisation processes and the implementation of the neoliberal model.
